School Overview
Stony Point Elementary School is a kindergarten through third-grade school serving approximately 675 students in the beautiful Hudson Valley community of Stony Point, New York. Built in 1966, our school has grown over the years with the addition of two building expansions and a new library designed to support the changing needs of our students and community.
At Stony Point Elementary School, our mission is to create a warm, loving, safe, and supportive environment where children, staff, and families want to come and learn together. We believe that every child deserves to be known by name and to feel safe, valued, supported, and excited to come to school each day.
At the heart of our school community are our HEART values:
- Honesty
- Empathy
- Attitude
- Respect
- Teamwork
These values guide how we learn, work, and care for one another. Through classroom lessons, schoolwide celebrations, HEART Tickets, monthly HEART Breakfasts, and daily recognition, we encourage our students to demonstrate positive character and understand the important role they play in our school community.
Our dedicated teachers and staff work together to provide engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that build strong academic foundations while supporting the social and emotional growth of every child. We believe that relationships come before programs, families are essential partners, and children learn best when they feel a genuine sense of belonging.
Stony Point Elementary is proud of its diverse student body and the many cultures, languages, strengths, and experiences our students and families bring to our school. We are committed to creating a joyful and inclusive environment where differences are celebrated, growth is recognized, and every student is encouraged to learn, contribute, and shine.
We are proud to be the Stony Point Elementary School family, where we learn together, celebrate one another, and always lead with HEART.
