Robotics Club Explores Drone Technology

A member of the Rockland County Sheriff's Office Drone Team shows Stony Point students different features of their drone on a laptop.

Stony Point Elementary's Robotics Club got a closer look at drone technology with a visit from Detective Dwayne Defino and Detective Gerald Villareal from the Rockland County Sheriff's Office Drone Team! Students watched the drone take off, fly and land, explored its features and asked questions about how the department uses this technology to support our community. The hands-on demonstration connected classroom STEM learning to real-world applications and careers, giving students a new perspective on how robotics can make a difference beyond the classroom.
